Today was the first day at the Dominican 4-H Day camp for the
village kids. It was hard trying to communicate with them, but the teens from
the Dominican Republic helped us translate. The kids are pretty high energy, but that is
expected from little kids. It was really fun learning their culture, playing
games with them, and doing crafts with them. I’m looking forward to Day 2 of
camp. We had to snacks to eat today. The first snack was an energy snack that
contained oats, honey from Punta Cana, peanut butter, coconut, and chocolate
chips. Our second snack was Jell-O that the staff at the Foundation made for
us. One of the crafts that we made today were bedazzled sea shells. Altogether
we had a great day with the kids.
